Chad Johnson: Cultivating a life of Risk

1. Go Ahead, Dream Big

With the influences that this world, our flesh, and even sometimes our Christian culture can throw at us, it can be so easy to lose our self-esteem and our self-confidence as believers. The Lord’s idea is to restore our dreamer’s heart so that we can be a people of radical faith and clear vision because He can do it without us, but He chooses not to.

2. We all can start an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord’s plan has never been to only use one person at the front of the room or crowd to release an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. His desire has always been that we would be an entire nation of prophets and priests. (1 Peter 2:9)

It takes all of us to band together in unity, and that’s what we are commissioned to pray for isn’t it! (John 17:20-24)

3. Identity and Intimacy are the foundations of a life of Risk

Intimacy with Jesus is the exact location where we will receive our assignment to take risks. The Lord is the one who gives the plan and the power to accomplish the impossible, not us. The correct identity will keep us humble and hungry.

4. The risk is WILD and WISE.

In the Lord’s Kingdom, taking risks through faith is the WISE way to live. People that live of the carnal mind might try to convince us otherwise, but it’s vital to our life in the Spirit that we trust the Lord for what might not be logical.

5. Being yourself helps ministry work the way it should.
6. Punch through the awkward!

In street evangelism, it can feel so awkward to randomly start conversations with people or ask them if you can pray for them. We have to have the endurance to punch through the awkward merely!

7. Looking dumb is okay.

YES! We have to be willing to look foolish in the eyes of others. Often in ministry, people are blessed by someone simply being kind to them and blessing them with spiritual wonders haha!

8. Consistent prayer through faith.

It’s easy to just give up after praying once or twice for something or someone, isn’t it? Enduring Faith has the power to bring breakthrough. As a church, let’s commit to praying until we see what we hope for is realized.

9. It’s not about trying to be amazing; it’s about being AMAZED!

There’s a temptation in living a life of risk, and that’s the desire to be the one who looks amazing

It’s a temptation to say yes to the attention and the credit and the praise of others.

But when you know in your heart that you’ve surrendered everything, then you are free to stand amazed at the King of Kings, and how real His Kingdom is.
