John 15:12-13 says, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one’s friends.”

Here at YWAM Denver the Lord has been speaking “family” to us. We believe that His heart for our base is to see the lost and broken adopted into His FAMILY. To unite as a family of believers under the banner of Jesus.

John 15:12-13 says, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

A part of the vision that YWAM Denver has for the base is to create a culture of unity, authenticity, to build one another up, and to speak the truth in love.  All of these culture pieces play into the DNA of “family” that we desire for every staff and student to feel.

Our heart is to equip this generation to reach not only their peers but to one day impact the generations to come. We believe that it all starts with every person feeling that they are a part of a body of believers and that we are all working together to Know God and to Make God Known. We want each student to come in and know that as they dig deeper into their relationship with God that they also have the support of our community here at YWAM Denver.

Our hope is to have as many cultures and backgrounds as possible in order to reflect the Kingdom of Heaven. While we know that sometimes when you join somewhere new it can bring up a rollercoaster of emotions from insecurity to joy, from feeling out of place to making your new best friends, from culture shock to you name it, our prayer is that with the support of a family, those differences can be resolved in a way that brings more growth and unity.

The concept of family is extremely integral to ministry. If you’re going to do a DTS alongside other students, or dedicate your time to being a staff member here, we want you to feel like you’re stepping into a community that will fight for you and love you.

Family is at the center of God’s heart and we are excited to continue to dive into His vision and His heart for this base.
